What’s the difference?

Using Hahnemühle Hemp for your artwork brings a unique 2D effect to your space. All GeoChange artworks are printed using the giclée method, an intricate process known for its high-resolution detail, archival-quality inks, wide color gamut. This technique delivers exceptional color depth and vibrancy.

With a 12-color pigment-based ink system, giclée prints offer superior quality, ensuring the artwork’s colors remain rich and vivid for years to come. These materials also add texture and depth to the artwork, often exceeding 100 years without significant fading when displayed under proper conditions.

Hemp giclée prints can only be framed, as opposed to our museum-grade canvas, which can be either stretched or stretched and floated. When the canvas is stretched, it provides a 3D effect, making your artwork appear as though it’s coming off the wall.

What’s the difference?

Stretched

Stretched Canvas will give your artwork a striking 3D effect, making it stand out as though it's coming off the wall. Stretching is expertly done on sustainably grown, thick Australian or New Zealand Pine, ensuring both durability and eco-friendliness. This premium process adds depth and structure, enhancing the overall presentation of your piece while aligning with GeoChange's commitment to sustainability and high-quality craftsmanship.

Float Frame

A Float Frame means your artwork will be stretched and elegantly placed in a handcrafted, custom-made Tasmanian oak frame, creating the illusion that the piece is floating within the frame. This sophisticated framing technique enhances the 3D effect of the artwork, adding a refined, gallery-like presentation while showcasing the natural beauty of Tasmanian oak. The result is a unique, elevated display that perfectly complements the artwork’s presence in any space.

About the Merch
About the Artwork

A beautiful visage of a humpback whale lit by the rays of the sun as if it was sent directly from the heavens and into the shallows. Assuredly, an unexpected meeting from Anouska Freedman. Capturing one giant mammal of the ocean wandering as close as it can inland, probably as close to the low sea floor as possible. The collection of sun rays filtered by the sea current just hits the handsome face of this water titan, and as if on cue, it tilts its head ever so slightly for an angular look.

Humpback whales are distinguishable by the tubercles, or bony tissues on their pectoral fins. These tubercles have been known to provide hydrodynamic properties, letting the huge animal swim a bit more nimbly in the open waters. These tubercles are also being utilized by scientists and engineers for aerodynamic or hydrodynamic applications in the human world.

From Anouska Freedman:

Every year brings new learning with a different marine species and this year I have been very lucky with some incredible humpback whale encounters ???? I learn something new about these intelligent animals with each encounter.

The most special kind when you’re already in the water and for a few seconds a giant floats past when you least expect it.

Here is a photo from a very special sunset moment when we were in the shallows and one of the last things you would expect to see is a humpback! But there you go, the ocean ever surprising ????
