About Paul HiltonGeoChange Ambassador · Conservation photojournalist
Paul, in their own words
Paul Hilton

Internationally acclaimed conservation photojournalist Paul Hilton is a wildlife crime consultant who has partnered with some of the largest conservation not-for-profits in the world, including the Rainforest Action Network, Greenpeace, WildAid and the Oceanic Preservation Society. Over three decades he has documented deforestation and the illegal wildlife trade in Sumatra's Leuser ecosystem, followed the shark-fin trade from the ports of Yemen to the high seas of the Pacific and Indian oceans and the dried-seafood markets of Southern China and Hong Kong, documented a newly discovered blue whale migration and the satellite tagging of humpback whales, and worked on sustainable pole-and-line tuna fisheries worldwide. His footage of the illegal wildlife trade features heavily in Racing Extinction, directed by Oscar winner Louie Psihoyos, and his work has appeared in documentaries for Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. His photograph of 100 tonnes of seized ivory is the image GeoChange was founded on.

  • World Press Photo award 2012 (shark-fin trade)
  • Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2020
  • Asian Geographic Best of the Decade
  • Ark Trust Award for exposing bear bile farming

Journey+ · in development

One day, you might find yourself on the other side of the photograph.

Get in the water. See the animal in front of you, not behind glass. Journey+ is the part of GeoChange we're building for exactly that: experiences with the people who made these images. Collectors hear first.

How this compares

An honest read. Open editions win on price, an original wins on being one of one, and this is where a GeoChange edition wins.

Good to know

Everything else a collector asks before ordering.

How to choose a size and finish

Which size? Above a two-seater sofa most collectors choose 26″ × 40″ or 20″ × 30″; a hallway or bedroom wall suits 18″ × 24″; a desk or shelf 12 × 18. Use the scale slide in the gallery.

Which finish? Stretched canvas for depth without a frame; oak-framed for the full presentation; rolled if you have a framer you love. Fine art paper is framed or rolled: it cannot be stretched.

First time collecting art online? Your piece is printed to order, checked before dispatch, packed for transit and replaced if damaged. Colours are calibrated to print as they appear on a good screen.
