About this collection
Impala Art Prints: The Antelope Everything Else Is Watching
An impala art print is a study in alertness. No animal on the African savanna is watched by more things at once — and none has adapted so completely to being watched. Two limited-edition works sit in this collection, both by wildlife photographer and filmmaker Shannon Wild.
How to pick an impala from every other African antelope
Start at the back. An impala carries a white rump split by three black lines — two down the haunches and one down the tail — which read as a bold "M" when the animal turns away from you. That mark is the point: when a herd scatters, it is the last thing each animal sees of the one in front. Above it, a coat of two tones, rufous along the spine fading to cream underneath. Only the rams carry horns, ridged and lyre-shaped, sweeping back then out then forward again. And when they move, they really move — an impala under pressure will leap several metres in a stride and change direction mid-air, which is the whole reason an impala wall art piece has energy in it even when the animal is standing still.
Two pieces, both by Shannon Wild
The Mirrored Impala is the standout — a composition built on symmetry, which is a rare thing to find in an animal that spends its life in motion. Impala Knows sits beside it, quieter. That's the whole collection, and we'd rather say so than pad it out. Two African antelope prints by one photographer who has spent years in the field with them is not a shortfall — it's the point of a limited-edition label.
Made to order, handmade in Australia
Both works are limited editions, made to order and handmade in Australia, and each arrives with a certificate of authenticity. Choose Fine Art Paper or Museum Grade Canvas across six sizes, framed or unframed. 30% of profits from every piece goes to the conservation causes we work with.
Look at The Mirrored Impala first, then Impala Knows — they hang well as a pair. Use View in room on either product page to place the work on your own wall at true scale before you commit. Order an Extra Large or larger and you'll choose a complimentary small print to go with it. To see the rest of the savanna, head into Land, Cheetah or Giraffe.
Canvas or fine-art paper: which should I choose?
Stretched canvas gives a gallery depth with no frame and is the recommended finish. Hahnemühle Hemp paper gives a lightly textured, archival print for your own framing, or in our oak frame.
Which size suits my wall?
Above a two-seater sofa (180–210 cm) most collectors choose 26″ × 40″ or 20 × 30. Use “Find your piece” or the scale slide on any artwork.
How limited are the editions?
Each size is limited to 111 numbered prints and never reprinted.
How long does delivery take?
Made to order: produced in 3–5 business days, then 5–7 business days for shipping. Rolled prints ship free within Australia. Framed and stretched pieces are A$10 flat delivery per order.
Can I return it?
Because each piece is made to order we don’t offer change-of-mind returns. If it arrives damaged, send a photo within 48 hours and we replace it.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Rates are calculated at checkout by destination.
