Andre, in their own words
Andre Rerekura

Andre has a huge passion for the ocean. He has worked beneath or on the ocean most of his life, which has given him a deep knowledge of marine life, and he seems more at home in the sea than on land. Highly regarded in his field, Andre is one of the most in-demand water camera operators in Australia. He has worked on some of the largest and most complex ocean documentaries ever filmed in Australia, including Shipwreck Hunters Australia for Disney+, and on productions for BBC, National Geographic and Netflix. He is always striving to help the environment in any way he can, above all by sharing beautiful content that shows the world the wonders we have and inspires others to protect them.

The story

The Bait Ball

This captivating underwater scene showcases the intricate beauty and natural choreography of marine life. The bait ball moves rapidly in unison, a defence mechanism to discourage predators. However, its frantic motion and shimmering appearance often attract larger predators like trevally and sharks, which hover nearby, anticipating an opportunity. From Andre Rerekura: I’ll remember this day for the rest of my life. The bait was in the shallows, and it eventually got pushed out deeper. I swam with the bait ball for 20 minutes, anticipating the trevally and sharks close by to…

Journey+ · in development

One day, you might find yourself on the other side of the photograph.

Get in the water. See the animal in front of you, not behind glass. Journey+ is the part of GeoChange we're building for exactly that: experiences with the people who made these images. Collectors hear first.

How this compares

An honest read. Open editions win on price, an original wins on being one of one, and this is where a GeoChange edition wins.

Good to know

Everything else a collector asks before ordering.

How to choose a size and finish

Which size? Above a two-seater sofa most collectors choose 26″ × 40″ or 20″ × 30″; a hallway or bedroom wall suits 18″ × 24″; a desk or shelf 12 × 18. Use the scale slide in the gallery.

Which finish? Stretched canvas for depth without a frame; oak-framed for the full presentation; rolled if you have a framer you love. Fine art paper is framed or rolled: it cannot be stretched.

First time collecting art online? Your piece is printed to order, checked before dispatch, packed for transit and replaced if damaged. Colours are calibrated to print as they appear on a good screen.
