Julia Freiseisen is an intuitive painter from Austria, currently living in Perth, WA. Surrounded and inspired by a vast and diverse landscape, it is reflected in her large-scale paintings, which are balanced, visually appealing and emotionally resonant. Creating art serves as a means for her to navigate and channel her emotions. To read a painting, Julia asks the audience for a period of observation, not only of what is immediately present but also of what lies within ourselves, almost like an act of meditation. Beyond the studio Julia is a passionate gardener with a deep connection to nature; the goal of her efforts is to preserve and protect ecosystems and minimise the harm done to land and wildlife, by acknowledging that humans are a part of nature, not distinct from it.

A lightly textured, matte archival paper. It holds fine detail and reads as a print rather than a photograph, with no glare from the surface.

Museum Grade Canvas
Canson ProCanvas 385gsm
A heavier museum-grade canvas with more depth and contrast. The weave gives the image body, which is why the larger sizes and the statement walls are almost always canvas.

Both materials carry the same numbered edition of 111 per size and the same replacement cover if the piece arrives damaged.
Finish
Gallery-wrapped over a timber stretcher bar with a mirrored wrap: the sides continue the image, so nothing is lost from the face. Ready to hang.
A deep natural timber frame, ready to hang. Canvas is float-framed: a slim shadow gap between the work and the timber on every side. Paper sits inside an even white border, then the frame.
The same construction in a warm pale timber. It disappears into lighter, calmer rooms where dark oak would read as a statement of its own.
Unframed and unstretched, shipped in a tube for your own framer. Fine art paper arrives with an even white border on all four sides. Free standard Australian delivery on rolled prints.
Only the combinations we actually make are offered. Choosing Fine Art Paper removes Stretched Canvas from the list rather than showing it as unavailable.

How to choose a size and finish
Which size? Above a two-seater sofa most collectors choose 26″ × 40″ or 20″ × 30″; a hallway or bedroom wall suits 18″ × 24″; a desk or shelf 12 × 18. Use the scale slide in the gallery.
Which finish? Stretched canvas for depth without a frame; oak-framed for the full presentation; rolled if you have a framer you love. Fine art paper is framed or rolled: it cannot be stretched.
First time collecting art online? Your piece is printed to order, checked before dispatch, packed for transit and replaced if damaged. Colours are calibrated to print as they appear on a good screen.
