A whale shark photo was taken just below the sea surface by Brooke Pyke and edited in grayscale. A great distorted mirror effect from calm waters makes a beautiful image indeed. The effect gives a serene feeling and a sort of companion for a whale shark who spends most their time being solitary. The semi-submerged shot also catches a glimpse of another serene scenario with the wispy clouds on a clear day.
Whale sharks migrate to chow down on plankton-rich seas, so are good indicators that wherever they visit are areas where there is a good amount of natural balance, and where the sea is still healthy and teeming with life. These peaceful creatures need to be protected and their environment taken care of, as they are living signs that the ecosystem is at least still in balance.
From Brooke Pyke: If there is one thing I hope we can all achiever this year it’s to be closer to nature and sharing our love and kindness for all animals, plants, fellow humans and the earth. If this pandemic has taught us anything it’s the importance of health. Not just for ourselves but for the planet as a whole.
